Hawaiian Night
KCCC held a Hawaiian-themed party on Friday, July 20, 2009. Colorful Hawaiian attire and brightly colored leis lent a festive air to the Grand Hall as everyone enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing at KCCC. Hawaiian dance numbers were performed by Siony's Dance Company to the crowd's delight..

Hepatitis B Information Session
KCCC held an Information Session on Hepatitis B last June 27, 2009 to raise awareness in the Filipino-Canadian community about Hepatitis B, a disease which is prevalent in the Asian community. The session was conducted by specialist Dr. Hemant Shah from the Toronto Western Hospital Liver Centre. This free lecture was made possible through a grant from Gilead Sciences Canada, Inc.

A Special Children's Fashion Show
On Saturday, June 20, 2009, Rodel Roda-Meier, a coutourier by hobby, presented her designed children's clothes in a special fundraising fashion show for KCCC. The show featured "Clothes to Celebrate Life" with the Heirloom Treasures Collection and Simply Charming Kids Collection featuring clothes for babies up to pre-teens.

A milestone celebration...family, friends, community leaders and KCCC volunteers all joined together to celebrate Mama Ching's birthday on May 2, 2009.

The KCCC Bowl-a-thon was held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at VIP Lanes (formerly Transworld Bowling) in Brampton, ON. To all the sponsors, participants, organizers and volunteers - Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat!

NEW YEAR’S BALL AT KCCC
A Masquerade Ball was held at the grand hall of KCCC on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2008. The New Year’s Eve Ball has become an annual event at KCCC with KCCC members, friends and relatives all coming to celebrate the New Year together.

PHILIPPINE CHORAL SOCIETY’S “PAMASKO” CONCERT
Under the baton of Mrs. Imelda Espiritu-Papa, the Philippine Choral Society of Mississauga has been singing for charity in the last twenty-three years and has participated in many community events. The “Pamasko” concert was held at KCCC on Dec. 13, 2008, with proceeds of the concert going towards KCCC’s mortgage reduction fund.

KCCC Christmas Party & Appreciation Night, Nov. 28

Kalayaan Meet and Greet, Nov. 7
Kalayaan, the umbrella organization of all Filipino groups in Mississauga and environs, held a gathering to introduce the newly elected officials of Kalayaan to the Community. It was also a fitting occasion to share the Organization's goals and plans.

Halloween Bash 2008
A Halloween Bash was held at the Grand Hall of KCCC on Friday, October 31, 2008. In keeping with the Halloween theme, the Centre was transformed into a Haunted House. Everyone who came had a “howling” good time and those who came in costume were all declared winners and received prizes.

KCCC Board & Rondalla Presentation for First Lady Mrs. Ramos & Friends
It was a special Thursday night on Oct. 23, 2008 at KCCC to honor Former First Lady of the Philippines Ming Ramos with a Rondalla presentation and tour of KCCC.

Kalayaan Filipino Cultural Organization 25th Gala
The Kalayaan Filipino Cultural Organization, known simply as Kalayaan, is the umbrella organization of all Filipino groups in Mississauga and environs. It is instrumental in providing the seed money to acquire the building that now houses the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre (KCCC). To celebrate the silver anniversary of the organization established in 1983, a dinner-dance was held on Sept. 20, 2008.

KCCC 1st Classic Golf Tournament
The Kalayaan Cultural Community Center (KCCC) held their first Classic Golf Tournament last September 6, 2008 at the scenic championship course of Royal Ontario Golf Club in Hornby, Ontario. Despite the heavy rain that drenched the golf course the night prior to the game, the tournament day conditions were perfect.

KCCC 2008 Walkathon
The annual KCCC 5K Walkathon was held August 23, 2008. About 100 walkers from the youngest 4-year old, Kenneth Yap, to the oldest 85-year old, Tony Dacunha, enjoyed the refreshing walk. Several Filipino associations came in support of KCCC including Sampaguita Filipino Senior Citizens Club, Bayanihan of Mississauga, Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe, AFCA, Kalayaan Foundation, APO, Le Jem, BLD, RC Dance Club and Pliant Corporation, but the biggest and most energetic group in attendance was the Filipino Seniors of Mississauga. Each participant received individual prizes as well as a Filipino style brunch of tapsilog, longsilog, toysilog, tocilog and more, which more than replenished the burnt calories.

Mama Ching's Birthday Celebration
KCCC’s very own President, “Mama Ching” Quejas celebrated 84 blessed years with a dinner-dance at KCCC on May 2, 2008. In lieu of gifts, a donation for her beloved KCCC was given by guests. Family, friends, and community leaders all joined together to make it a memorable night for her. Mama Ching, you are truly an inspiration!

A Journey Down Memory Lane - John Lesaca in Concert
On Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, John Lesaca with special guest, Chiqui-Kat Pineda-Azimi, held a fund-raising concert at KCCC’s Grand Hall to support KCCC’s facility renovations. John Lesaca, a gifted and well-known violinist from the Philippines, is the August 2007 Asia & Pacific Excellence awardee for Most Outstanding Instrumentalist.

KCCC Open House

KCCC officially opened its doors to the public at its new Orbitor location with an open house from May 27-June 3, 2007. The week-long celebration included workshops, art exhibits, rondalla and line dancing presentations. Blessing of the facility and ribbon cutting ceremony was held on June 3, 2007.
